All contractors are expected to be timely and ready to work at the start of their call.
In the case of running late, you must notify the shop as soon as possible.
Carpentry: 9:00am - 5:00pm // Meal Break 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Painting: 10:00am - 6:00pm // Meal Break 2:00pm - 3:00pm

All tools and materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own kit!
If no leads are present, check in with Josh via text or Slack with current progress at 12pm and before your end of day.

on-site calls

A “Day of X/XX Rundown” sheet will be sent to your email with information such as addresses, contacts, and scheduled breaks/tasks at least 24 hours before the call date.
All important updates will be sent in that thread if necessary either by JWS or our client representative.

We encourage all contractors to adhere to safe practices at all times, bring your protective gear and lift with your legs, not your back!
If something appears to have been damaged during transport or different from the draftings, wave over your crew lead to discuss troubleshooting before bringing it to the client's attention. We pride ourselves on being a team that exudes professionalism, experience, and confidence!
Always respect the space you’re in and avoid collisions with architecture and furniture.

All Calls
everyone shall always be treated with respect regardless of race, color, sex, gender, sexual preferences, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin.
hourly employees will be punctual and ready to work for the call time. If running late, they will let the crew lead as soon as they know and will make up any missed time either by shortening meal break or staying later.
Hours worked over 40hrs in a 7-day pay period are billed as OT at 1.5x rate
breaks are a break - work stops for all breaks. Take 5 whenever you need. Contractors will be punctual when break is over and ready to work.
We believe in honest, direct communication — and that starts within our team. If a concern or issue comes up, it should be brought to Josh, the Studio Manager, or the Lead, not the client. By keeping internal matters in-house, we maintain professionalism, protect trust, and ensure a unified client experience.
Shop Calls
minimum hours for a call: 4 hour minimum
breaks: take as you need, at good stopping points of your project, we usually take a 10 every 2 hours.
meal breaks: every 8 hour call includes a1 hour unpaid meal break
travel not reimbursed to our studio.
parking will not be reimbursed nor will ticket violations.
On Site Calls
minimum hours for an on-site call: 4 hour minimum
minimum hours for a driving call: none
coffee breaks: one 15 minute coffee break every 3 hours
meal breaks: every 8 hour call includes a1 hour unpaid meal break
travel reimbursement: if location is outside of New York City (the five boroughs) travel will either be provided or reimbursed. unless otherwise noted, travel will not be reimbursed. travel time is not included in the working hours.
